As this home has high Ecological credentials the garden followed suit. British Portland stone was used for all terraces, extensive walls, steps’ and coping, resulting in shorter than average transportation distances. Plants were sourced from local nurseries where the owners grow a high percentage of the plants themselves, rather than shipping them from Holland or Italy. Grasses and perennials were planted to provide seed heads and nesting material for wildlife. The large pond and meadow is being planted this year which will encourage insects.
